Program or Organization
Description:
The National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), established by the U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA), is a resource center for elder rights advocates; health, aging, and social services professionals; APS; law enforcement; legal professionals; public policy leaders; researchers; and others working so that older Americans can live with integrity, independence, and without abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

The NCEA provides a wide range of services and information to professionals working with older individuals who have experienced, or who are at risk, for elder mistreatment. The NCEA offers training and technical assistance to state and community based organizations; assists in program and policy development; promotes professional development by highlighting promising practices and current research; and fosters communication within and across disciplines in order to enhance prevention and intervention. The NCEA also provides referral and information to members of the public seeking to assist elders.
